Terms of Service
These Terms govern your use of PrometheanMed. Please read them carefully. They work together with our Privacy Policy and Legal Disclosures.
Effective July 4, 2026 · Last updated July 4, 2026 · Version 2026-07-04
Please note: Some provisions below — including the limitation of liability, disclaimers, governing law, and any user-content license — are marked for review by a licensed attorney and by the platform owner. They are included in good faith but should not be treated as final legal advice.
1. Acceptance & relationship to Privacy Policy
PrometheanMed ("PrometheanMed," "we," "us," or "our") is the name used for this platform and its related services. By creating an account or using PrometheanMed, you agree to these Terms of Service. If you do not agree, do not use the platform. Your use of the platform is also described by our Privacy Policy, which explains how we handle information. The current version of these Terms is 2026-07-04.
2. Eligibility, age & minors
You must be at least 13 years old to use PrometheanMed, and we ask you to confirm this when you create an account. By using the platform, you represent that you meet this requirement and that the information you provide is accurate. The platform is intended for use in the United States. PrometheanMed is not intended for children under 13, and we do not knowingly allow them to create accounts.
If you are under 18, you may use PrometheanMed only with the involvement of a parent or guardian, and you represent that a parent or guardian permits your use. Parents and guardians can contact us through our Contact & Feedback form. See the Children & minors section of the Privacy Policy.
Note: Whether a 13–17-year-old can form a binding agreement, and whether parental consent is required, is subject to review by a licensed attorney.
3. Your account
You are responsible for the information you provide and for keeping it accurate. You are responsible for maintaining the security of your account credentials and for activity under your account. Do not share your account or let others use it. Notify us promptly if you suspect unauthorized access.
4. What PrometheanMed is (and is not)
PrometheanMed is an opportunity-discovery, organization, tracking, and guidance platform for students exploring a path toward medicine. It helps you find clinical, research, and related opportunities, organize and track applications, and get AI-assisted guidance.
PrometheanMed is not, and does not act as:
- a school, university, hospital, clinic, laboratory, research institution, or employer;
- an admissions authority, medical provider, legal adviser, financial adviser, or government agency.
PrometheanMed does not:
- control third-party organizations' application, selection, or admissions decisions;
- guarantee acceptance, admission, employment, research, volunteering, shadowing, or internship placement, or any academic or career outcome;
- guarantee that a third-party opportunity remains open, or that every deadline, eligibility requirement, contact detail, or link is complete or current;
- make professional medical, legal, or financial decisions for you.
Nothing on PrometheanMed is professional medical, legal, admissions, or financial advice. Content is for informational and educational purposes only; consult a qualified professional before acting on important decisions.
5. Opportunity directory & disclaimers
Opportunity listings are gathered from publicly available third-party sources and are organized to help you discover them. Details are often extracted automatically from external websites and may be incomplete, outdated, or inaccurate.
Opportunity-information disclaimer. Deadlines, eligibility, locations, availability, contact details, and application links can change or close at any time without notice. A “Verified” label means a listing was approved/published from a reviewed source at some past time and is periodically re-checked by an automated process; it is not a guarantee that the opportunity is currently open or accurate. You must confirm all details with the official organization before applying. See the Opportunity Information Disclaimer.
Non-affiliation. Displaying an organization, school, hospital, laboratory, program, name, or opportunity does not mean PrometheanMed is affiliated with, endorsed by, sponsored by, or partnered with it. An affiliation exists only where PrometheanMed explicitly identifies it as an official relationship. See the Non-Affiliation Disclosure.
Match labels & recommendations. Match labels are automated recommendations based on your profile and the listing information available. They are not predictions of acceptance and not official eligibility determinations, and may rely on incomplete data. A strong match does not guarantee eligibility; a weak or absent match does not necessarily mean you cannot apply. See the Match-Score Disclosure.
If you find a listing that is outdated, incorrect, suspicious, or broken, please report it through Contact & Feedback. Use good judgment and standard safety practices when communicating with third parties.
6. Prometheus AI & AI-generated drafts
Prometheus is an AI assistant. Its responses, and any drafts it helps you write (such as outreach messages), are generated by a large language model and can be incomplete, outdated, factually incorrect, or misleading.
- You are responsible for reviewing and verifying AI output before relying on, copying, submitting, or sending it.
- PrometheanMed does not automatically send any AI-generated message on your behalf. Draft-assist features only pre-fill text for you to review; you choose whether to use it.
- AI output is not professional medical, legal, admissions, or financial advice.
- Verify any opportunity, eligibility, or factual claim against official sources.
For details, see the AI Disclosure, the AI Uncertainty Disclosure, and how AI processing relates to your data in the Privacy Policy.
7. Third-party sites, tracker & reminders
The platform links to external websites operated by third parties. These links are provided for convenience and are not endorsements. We do not control those sites and are not responsible for their content, accuracy, availability, or privacy practices.
Saved opportunities, application-tracker records, logged hours, notes, and personal opportunities are tools to help you organize your own information — you are responsible for their accuracy. Deadline reminders and match updates are provided on a best-effort basis and may be delayed or missed; do not rely on them as your only reminder for an important deadline.
8. Acceptable use
You agree to use PrometheanMed only for lawful purposes. You may not:
- access accounts, systems, or data you are not authorized to access;
- submit false, misleading, or fraudulent information;
- use bots, scrapers, or scripts to extract content without permission;
- post or transmit content that is defamatory, harassing, illegal, or infringing;
- circumvent rate limits, access controls, or security measures;
- use the platform to spam or solicit other users;
- reverse engineer or copy the platform's proprietary code or content.
9. Your content & feedback
You keep ownership of the notes, prompts, and other content you submit. By sending feedback, opportunity corrections, or other suggestions to PrometheanMed, you grant us a non-exclusive, royalty-free license to use them to operate and improve the platform. You represent that your submissions do not infringe others’ rights. Please do not submit content you are not permitted to share.
Note: The scope of the license PrometheanMed takes in user submissions is subject to review by a licensed attorney.
10. Intellectual property
PrometheanMed’s platform code, design, branding, and original content are owned by PrometheanMed or its licensors and are protected by applicable law. You may not copy, reproduce, or redistribute our proprietary content without written permission.
Opportunity listings contain information from public sources and third parties; rights in that content belong to the originating organizations. Third-party names and trademarks belong to their respective owners and are used only to identify opportunities, not to imply affiliation.
11. Suspension, termination & deletion
We may suspend or terminate accounts that violate these Terms, engage in abuse, or harm the platform or its users. You may delete your account at any time from Settings → Delete account. Deletion is email-verified and includes a 14-day recovery window, after which it is permanent. See the Data Retention & Deletion Policy for exactly what is deleted, anonymized, or retained.
12. Service changes & availability
We may modify, suspend, or discontinue any part of the platform at any time, with or without notice. We do not guarantee uninterrupted or error-free access and are not liable for loss resulting from downtime.
13. Disclaimers
PrometheanMed is provided “as is” and “as available” without warranties of any kind, express or implied, including implied warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement. We do not warrant that the platform will be uninterrupted, error-free, secure, or free of harmful components, or that opportunity information is complete, current, or accurate.
Note: The scope and presentation of this disclaimer are subject to review by a licensed attorney.
14. Limitation of liability
To the fullest extent permitted by applicable law, PrometheanMed and its operators, contributors, and service providers will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or for lost opportunities or outcomes, arising from your use of or inability to use the platform, even if advised of the possibility of such damages.
Note: The enforceability and scope of this limitation — including any cap, required carve-outs, and its application to minors — are subject to review by a licensed attorney. No indemnification, arbitration, or class-action-waiver provision has been included.
15. Governing law & disputes
These Terms are intended to be governed by the laws of the State of Maryland and applicable U.S. federal law, without regard to conflict-of-law rules.
Note: The governing-law choice (currently Maryland), and whether to add a venue, arbitration, or class-action-waiver provision, are subject to owner and licensed-attorney confirmation.
16. Changes & contact
We may update these Terms. When we make material changes, we will update the effective and last-updated dates and the version above, and may provide additional notice where appropriate. Continued use after an update takes effect means you accept the updated Terms.
